1. Purpose of this notice
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) governs how consumer reports are obtained and used. This notice explains how credit information may be used when you submit a request through cashtitleexpress.com.
2. Cash Title Express is not a credit bureau
We are not a consumer reporting agency, a credit repair organization, a lender, or a debt collector. We do not create consumer reports, we do not issue credit scores, and we do not make credit decisions.
3. Consent to obtain a consumer report
By submitting a request, you give written instruction under the FCRA authorizing Cash Title Express and the lenders and partners we share your request with to obtain information about you from one or more consumer reporting agencies.
This may include credit reports, credit scores, identity verification data, vehicle records, and other information used to evaluate whether an offer can be extended to you.
4. Soft and hard inquiries
An initial review is often performed as a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit scores.
If you continue with a specific lender, that lender may perform a hard inquiry, which can appear on your credit report and may affect your scores. The lender will tell you before a hard inquiry is made. Each lender sets its own practice, and we do not control it.
5. Credit is one factor among several
For vehicle-title lending, a lender typically weighs vehicle value and condition, title status, and documented ability to repay alongside credit history. Credit is one input, not the only one, and we make no promise that any particular applicant will qualify.
6. Adverse action notices
If a lender declines your request, or offers terms less favorable than those offered to most of its customers, based in whole or in part on information in a consumer report, that lender is responsible for providing you with an adverse action notice.
The notice must identify the consumer reporting agency used and explain your right to obtain a free copy of the report from that agency within 60 days and to dispute anything you believe is inaccurate.
Because we do not make credit decisions, we cannot issue adverse action notices or explain a lender's decision.
7. Your rights under the FCRA
Federal law gives you the right to:
- Know what is in your file at a consumer reporting agency
- Receive a free copy of your credit report annually at annualcreditreport.com
- Dispute incomplete or inaccurate information and have it investigated
- Have inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information corrected or deleted
- Limit prescreened offers of credit and insurance you receive
- Place a fraud alert or security freeze on your file
- Seek damages from anyone who violates the FCRA
8. Contacting the nationwide credit bureaus
You can request your report or dispute information directly with Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion. More information about your FCRA rights is available from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov.
