Vehicle-secured lending moved online for the same reason mortgages did: valuation data, title records, and income verification are all digital now. In most states you can complete a request, receive a written offer, and sign without leaving your driveway.
A handful of states still require an in-person inspection or a physical title handoff. This hub explains where the line falls.
What happens digitally
You describe the vehicle, the platform prices it against wholesale data, you upload title, ID, insurance and income documents, the lender verifies the title record electronically, and the agreement is signed by e-signature. Funds arrive by transfer.
Where a physical step remains
Some states require a visual vehicle inspection or a wet-signature title assignment. Where that applies, the inspection is often handled by photo submission or a mobile agent rather than a store visit.
Judging an online lender
Confirm the license for your state, read the full written offer before signing, and be wary of anyone asking for an up-front fee to release funds. Legitimate lenders take their fees out of the loan, never before it.

Common questions
Are online title loans safe?
They are when the lender is licensed in your state and gives you the full agreement in writing before signature. Verify the license with your state regulator.
How is my car valued if nobody sees it?
Wholesale valuation data plus your reported mileage and condition, often confirmed with photos. Misreporting condition simply gets the offer revised later.
